In March 2024 Nick & Kim were kindly given the privilege of being invited to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Newcastle base to inspect
one of their helicopters receiving routine maintenance
and to see our beautiful “Ruby Mae Peake’s”
name proudly displayed on their honour board for the donations given in Ruby’s
name. This includes the money made from the charity bulls the past 2 years, that is split 3 ways between Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Ruby Mae’s Wish and the Stuart Peake Research Memorial Trust.
Their outstanding operation has 4 helicopters that rotate around the 3 bases in NSW (Belmont, Tamworth & Lismore). In the 2023/2024 first quarter they flew a total of 417 missions
!
Here are some behind the scenes photos of approximately the halfway mark for the helicopters 400hr maintenance check which takes 10 weeks .
This is a vital service that relies heavily on donations and community support
